چکیده
UNLABELLED There have been numerous studies focusing on the assessment of left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony. These studies are diverse in their purposes, which include more effectively predicting the response to cardiac resynchronization therapy, improving the guidance of the left ventricular lead position, and better prediction of outcome in patients with heart failure. This article reviews the current assessment methods, clinical applications and limitations of left ventricular dyssynchrony indices derived from echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging and radionuclide imaging in patients with heart failure. KEY WORDS Cardiac resynchronization therapy; Dyssynchrony; Echocardiography; Heart failure.

Impact of Phase Analysis of Gated SPECT to Assessment of Left Ventricular Mechanical Dyssynchrony in Diabetic Patients with Normal MPI
Objective: Diabetes mellitus is an important cause of heart failure deployment of left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony. Nuclear cardiology phase analysis is an accurate, repeatable and reproducible modality for measurement LV dyssynchrony .The aim of study was assessment of phase analysis parameter including Standard deviation (SD) and band width (BW) in diabetic patient with normal MPI com...
متن کاملClinical Implication of Mechanical Dyssynchrony in Heart Failure
Mechanical dyssynchrony is a common phenomenon in patients with congestive heart failure, which usually identified by noninvasive cardiac imaging tools such as echocardiography. It demonstrates electromechanical delay in some regions of the failing heart which in turn contributes to further impairment of cardiac function. The diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic values of mechanical dyssynchr...
متن کاملDo we understand who benefits from resynchronisation therapy?
Interest in ventricular dyssynchrony in heart failure patients has been renewed recently by the introduction of cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT). CRT is currently accepted as an adjunct to the medical treatment of symptomatic heart failure in patients with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction and ECG manifestations of ventricular conduction delay.1 It aims to reduce the electrica...
متن کاملImaging Mechanical Dyssynchrony After Myocardial Infarction in Patients With Left Ventricular Dysfunction, Heart Failure, or Both
Background—Mechanical dyssynchrony is considered an independent predictor for adverse cardiovascular outcomes in patients with heart failure. However, its importance as a risk factor after myocardial infarction is not well defined. Methods and Results—We examined the influence of mechanical dyssynchrony on outcome in patients with left ventricular dysfunction, heart failure, or both after myoca...
